Who are we and What do we do?

The PTFA at Heckington St Andrew’s are a friendly group which aims to meet once every half term to plan events and discuss fundraising.  All the money that is raised is then spent on equipment or activities for the children.  Examples of spending include:

  • A treat for every child in school such as a theatre visit
  • The replacement of outdoor gym equipment
  • A leavers party for every year 6 pupil as they move on to secondary school
  • Refurbishment and restocking of the school library
  • The indoor stage for productions in school and equipment for the outdoor classroom environments

To raise money we provide school discos, seasonal fairs, pop-up gift shops and parent only events such as fashion shows.  The children participate in sponsored events and we ask parents to shop via easy fundraising and to save clothes for our termly ‘clothes for cash’ collections.

We always welcome new members to the committee, though for those who cannot commit to the meetings we are always thrilled if somebody volunteers to bake for an event or man a stall.

Forthcoming events are always on the school newsletter, parent hub or the Facebook page, so we hope that they will be well supported.  Photos of the PTFA committee members are on the notice boards at the front of school and all of these key people (plus the rest of the committee) are very approachable on the playground.

The chair of the PTFA is Sarah Baldock and she can be contacted through the school office, by email: [email protected] or see her on the playground.
